Thanks to fertile soil, top universities and a strong entrepreneurial mentality, the Northern Netherlands is the ideal region for companies that want to contribute to the food transition. Here we work together on solutions that benefit both agricultural production and the environment.

Large companies such as Avebe, Agrifirm and Cosun are working together with research institutions such as Wageningen University & Research (WUR) and Dairy Campus Leeuwarden to renew the agricultural sector.

Our region offers many opportunities in smart and circular agriculture and the development of more sustainable protein sources. We are experts in the dairy chain, healthy food and water technology and are increasingly focusing on circular economy and plant proteins.
