Born and raised in the beautiful province of Friesland

I am Reinder de Jong, born and raised in the beautiful province of Friesland. After the necessary wanderings I now live in the province of Groningen. After my training in environmental engineering I worked in the licensing of companies and in that capacity I consulted with entrepreneurs and their plans. The switch to economic affairs and the development of business parks was a natural step.

After doing this with pleasure for a number of years, in December 2008 I joined NOM. Within NOM I focus on attracting new companies to the North of the Netherlands and for this we offer companies support in word and deed with the help of an extensive network and knowledge of the region. There is also special attention for companies that are active in, for example, the agri/dairy/food sector and water technology, a cluster of research, facilities and SMEs that is strongly represented in Fryslân.

What I like about working at NOM is that by taking additional courses, the knowledge of certain sectors can be kept up to date and therefore the services provided to companies can be even better. Being able to help/support different companies, in very different sectors, makes working at NOM a lot of fun!
