As a regional development company, NOM is committed to transparency, integrity and compliance with laws and regulations. Therefore, NOM conducts a Know Your Customer (KYC) survey of companies applying for financial support. This is a mandatory part of the process to ensure financial integrity and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

NOM and KYC legislation

KYC legislation is based on the Money Laundering and Terrorist Funding (Prevention) Act (Wwft) and aims to protect the integrity of the financial system. In this context, it is essential to know who the receiving party of funding is.

To comply with these regulations, NOM conducts careful client due diligence. This begins with the identification and verification of the company so that it is established with which party NOM is entering into a business relationship. It also examines who the ultimate stakeholders (UBOs) of the organization are, to gain insight into its ownership structure and control.

NOM also checks for Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), as such relationships may carry an increased risk of financial-economic crime. Finally, it assesses whether there are heightened risks based on the countries in which the company operates or the sector in which it operates.

What does this mean for you?

Implementing the KYC legislation means that we ask (new) relationships to participate in a survey. This survey consists of an online process in which we ask you to provide certain information and documentation. All information provided is treated confidentially and stored within secure systems. To make the process efficient and careful, NOM has outsourced the execution of the KYC survey to BlueMonks. BlueMonks takes care of this work on behalf of NOM and may be able to contact you as a customer to collect the right data to take care of the onboarding.
