Hello, I am Auke Piet van der Meulen and have been employed by NOM as business developer Circular Economy since February 2024. As a born Frisian (Kollum) from an entrepreneurial family I like to work on strengthening and making the economy of the North more sustainable. From my previous work experiences, I have already seen that in the Northern Netherlands the large companies are already fully engaged in circularity, but also that it is becoming increasingly important for smaller SMEs. But we are far from there yet.
Circularity is one of the challenges we cannot avoid. We will have to be more economical with the planet and our raw materials. It is great to see that there are already many initiatives in this area. And I now have the opportunity to accelerate these processes from NOM.
I enjoy living in both Groningen and Leeuwarden. I have 4 wonderful and sweet children and a girlfriend with 2 kids as well. I still play competitive soccer and love to run. Now and then I can also appreciate a pop concert. As an unhealthy activity, I like to be on my motorcycle and I really like traveling and vacations.
