Kai Engelmann

I am an Emmenaar, Drenth and Noordeling - in that order. A trip to Zwolle during my studies taught me where I do not feel at home. Back in Emmen I felt completely at home, together with my two girls Noor and Tessel and my boyfriend Martijn.

Originally I am a creative strategist, but actually I am just a bright yellow creative person (thanks to DISC for that color coding). Whether it's work or personal, I always look at things from an unexpected angle - often accompanied by the wrong pun. I paint, make music and sing (much to the annoyance of the neighbor, but oh well).

For eleven years I ran my own creative communications agency. There I could put all my energy and ideas into it, but once it was solid, I thought: what more do I want? Enter my role as program manager at Ik Ben Drents Ondernemer, where I can perfectly combine my love for Drenthe, entrepreneurship and creativity.

What I do
As program manager, I help Drenthe entrepreneurs move forward. I listen to their stories, spot opportunities and make connections between companies, governments and knowledge institutions. No woolly plans, but solutions that really work. My background helps: how can you make yourself more visible as an entrepreneur and conquer your unique place in the market?

Sparring, thinking along, rethinking - I am ready for it. And always with a Drenthe sobriety and a wink.
