Since 2023, NOM has been facilitating startup digital/IT companies establishing themselves in the Northern Netherlands through a Startup Visa. This one-year visa for innovative entrepreneurs from outside the EU is a perfect way to launch your startup and take a look at how everything works here. With the help of NOM as a recognized facilitator, you are assured of the necessary personal guidance and build connections for life.

Our two specialized programs are the Startup Readiness Program and the Investor Readiness Program. Both programs are offered in Dutch and English.
Startups can participate in our SRP or IRP program if their company/business idea is sustainable/circular, innovative and scalable. In addition, startups must have registered their company in the Northern Netherlands and be active in the IT/AI, HTSM, Agrifood, Watertech, LSH, Energy or Chemical sectors.
In addition to the program, we also put you in touch with successful entrepreneurs. In a one-on-one coaching relationship, these entrepreneurs can help you get started. They know all the ins and outs of doing business in the region and are happy to share their experience. The business coaches mentor each startup for about 3 hours per month. The cost is €100 per hour and should be paid directly to the coach.

We are in close contact with Funds that specialize in digital startups, we can introduce you to angel investors or decide to invest in your startup with our own funds. If investing is still a step too far, we can also help you find a suitable loan. Disclaimer: funding is not a guarantee; we cannot promise in advance that your startup will be funded, as it depends on the performance and development of the startup.
One of NOM's greatest assets is our extensive network. We can help you by introducing you to potential partners, suppliers, customers and investors. We will make sure you get a seat at the right table and guide you through to a successful transaction. In addition, we can invite you to relevant internal and external networking events and industry trade shows.
NOM offers support with practical matters, such as applying for the Startup Visa, finding a location/workplace and registration with the Chamber of Commerce. NOM does not offer a physical workplace at its office, but looks for a suitable workplace depending on the needs of startups. We have made arrangements with several business coaches and other external organizations that do offer workplaces. The cost of these workplaces is payable directly to the landlord.
