To study Business Economics, I moved to Groningen. I graduated in Investment and went to work in institutional asset management at Aegon Asset Management. For a long time, I was portfolio manager of two investment funds focused on investing in emerging markets, both equities and bonds. A dynamic market in which I saw small companies grow into global players and saw proof that a focus on sustainability can go hand in hand with good financial returns.
After more than 20 years, I thought it was time for something different. I started OverRendement, a company that provides insight into the performance of pension funds. In the sometimes complex financial markets it is important to have good insight into the results in order to make improvements.
At the same time, I would also like to contribute to returns myself, both financially and socially. As fund manager of the Investment Fund Groningen, I can do that in the beautiful province where I have lived most of my life.
