Why this initiative?
Finding good staff is a big challenge for many companies. At the same time, there are many talents in our region who consciously choose meaningful work. With Growth Starts Here, we bring the two together.
The portal is a joint initiative of the NOM, the Drenthe SME Fund, the Frisian Development Agency (FOM), and the Groningen Growth Fund. Our goal is to retain and attract talent and increase the visibility of our portfolio companies.
Who participate?
Only companies in which the NOM and the regional funds mentioned above currently hold a financial interest are listed on the portal. This means that job seekers will find job vacancies here exclusively from a carefully selected group of employers. These are companies that are not only economically strong but also contribute to innovation, sustainability, and the future of the Northern Netherlands.
Why is that important?
By displaying job openings in one central location, it becomes easier for job seekers to find opportunities with employers who truly contribute to the Northern Netherlands. And that’s not only good for the people who work there, but also for economic activity, innovation, and the quality of life in our provinces.

Currently, you’ll find about 40 job openings on “Groeien begint hier,” ranging from technical roles and production work to sales and management positions. For example:
