My name is Daan Verhorst, originally from Amsterdam, but raised in the surrounding region. After studying tax law in Leiden and spending years in Amsterdam, I decided to move to the beautiful northern Netherlands with my family in 2018.

Professionally, I have accumulated a wealth of experience; from tax advisor at renowned companies such as KPMG Meijburg and Deloitte to interim manager for financial and legal restructuring projects. I have also been active as a commercial director and entrepreneur. Over the years, I have experienced both the challenges of (re)funding rounds and company takeovers, as well as the opportunities this offers. Both as an entrepreneur and as an external advisor.

My journey in the business world has placed me in both challenging and celebratory moments. I know what it feels like to experience setbacks as well as to achieve and celebrate success! I have learned valuable lessons from both situations. For me, one thing is certain: the success of companies or investments is primarily about the people. It is ultimately the individuals and teams that make the difference. A mindset focused on possibilities and solutions, combined with the will to learn, listen and grow, is essential.

Focus on what you can influence and do it with full conviction. My aim is to achieve successes together with passionate entrepreneurs from the North. And remember: without valleys, there are no peaks. By learning from both, you will always get further.
