NOM and RUG are pleased to invite you to the kick-off meeting of the Future-Proof Computing Campus on May 14 from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the House of Connections.

Last year, by means of interviews with companies and knowledge institutions, we made an inventory of what the Northern Netherlands is really good at, in terms of themes around high-tech systems and materials. Two unique themes emerged: Autonomous Systems and Future-Proof Computing. The latter actually covers everything that fits in with 'good and green computing': think of responsible software development, AI and its influence on society, data sovereignty, energy-efficient chips, smart and energy-efficient data centers and responsible use of sensitive data sets. In Nij Begun's Economic Agenda, digitization is one of three generic themes, and the Future-Proof Computing Campus is mentioned as an important opportunity to invest in together.

We would like to engage with as many people as possible who are willing and able to contribute to this theme. Our commitment here is to shape Future-Proof Computing together as a wonderful umbrella for a coherent collection of different initiatives, most of which are already running in one way or another in the Northern Netherlands and which can become stronger by powerfully connecting them under this umbrella.

Will you join us?

If you want to become part of this initiative and have your potential project or contribution included in the larger project plan for the Future-Proof Computing Campus, sign up and pitch your project on stage! We already have applications from the AI Factory, CogniGron and a number of companies who want to start a Groningen alternative to the Amazon Cloud together.

Especially share this with people you know who are working on relevant developments in this context. And come listen and/or pitch on May 14. We'll provide a little breakfast!
