"Working with numbers, that suits me! My team works mainly behind the scenes, supportively. We only get noticed when something hasn't gone right. You then find out why. My predilection for numbers does not at all mean that I am contact-averse. I enjoy interacting with colleagues just as much."
I myself live in the Groningen earthquake area
"The four of us do all kinds of things in the administration department. Payroll, debtors and creditors, the monthly interest and repayment notes to companies and start-ups with a loan, preparing collections, processing bank bookings. Fortunately, we also get a lot of content from what NOM does. Every Monday there is a meeting where we all discuss what is going on. I appreciate that involvement enormously. It is important that our region continues to develop economically, that companies like to come to the north. Good for employment, among other things. Living in the earthquake area myself, I know how badly we need a healthy economic climate!"
"My work is never boring. It's also constantly changing. When I came to work here 12 years ago, you still had paper invoices, which you had to put in an envelope by hand. That's all digital now, fortunately, so you also have less chance of making mistakes."
"The conversations at lunch are very informal; we do discuss personal things. There is always something to laugh about. You see the whole team then, very cozy. Good to know: the NOM Party Committee organizes a few fun activities every year. A PubQuiz, for example, for anyone who feels like it. Or a golf tournament in the evening with a 'Glow in the Dark' ball that lights up, on the minigolf course of De Postwagen in Tolbert. Transformed for the occasion into a kind of exciting jungle by night. It doesn't matter so much then that you can't do anything about it."
