The COL scheme has been running for over a year and the available budget of €300 million is almost exhausted. There is one last opportunity to apply for a COL and the submission date is no later than May 16, 2021. After this date, it is no longer possible to apply for a COL or reassessment.
Make sure your application is well supported
Applications are evaluated according to a tender system. This means that the ROMs assess applications regionally and a national committee weighs the approved applications against each other. In addition to the formal criteria, qualitative criteria such as number of FTEs, alignment with mission-driven innovation policy, alignment with ecosystems and the importance of the innovation are also considered. Because of the limited budget, in this final round it is extra important to ensure a good substantiation on how the product/service connects to the mentioned qualitative criteria.
When will you know if your application has been approved?
The national committee will meet May 28. Feedback will follow June 7. Settlement and disbursement must be completed by June 30, 2021. If your application is rejected, you will be notified earlier. Target is within three weeks of in submission date.
