I was born and raised in Drachten and now live with my family in Beetsterzwaag - a nice village in beautiful, wooded surroundings. During my Business Administration studies, I got to know the city of Groningen very well. A top city where there is always something going on. The North has a lot to offer and I feel a strong connection with it.
Since September 2023, I have been working as a fund manager at Investment Fund Groningen (IFG). This fund focuses on the further economic development of the province of Groningen. This involves not only creating valuable employment opportunities, but also stimulating innovation and supporting the transitions needed for a future-proof economy. I contribute to this with great pleasure and conviction.
Within IFG, we set up business development funds specifically for Groningen. We also invest in (inter)national venture capital funds through a fund-in-fund construction. What I like about my work is analyzing the story behind a fund: who are the managers, how does the fund contribute to Groningen, and is it financially interesting? In this way, we work step by step toward concrete results that add value to the region.
With my financial background and passion for entrepreneurship, I enjoy working for an entrepreneurial and innovative Groningen. In my role, I work closely with funds and other stakeholders to choose investments that fit both the ambitions of IFG and what Groningen needs.
