I was born and raised in Drachten and now live with my family in Beetsterzwaag—a lovely village in a beautiful, wooded area. While studying Business Administration, I got to know the city of Groningen well. It’s a great city where there’s always something going on. The North has a lot to offer, and I feel a strong connection to it.
Since September 2023, I have been working as a fund manager at the Groningen Investment Fund (IFG). This fund focuses on the further economic development of the province of Groningen. This involves not only creating valuable jobs, but also stimulating innovation and supporting the transitions necessary for a future-proof economy. I am delighted and fully committed to contributing to this effort.
At IFG, we establish business development funds specifically designed for Groningen. In addition, we invest in national and international venture capital funds through a fund-of-funds structure. What appeals to me about my work is analyzing the story behind a fund: who are the managers, how does the fund contribute to Groningen, and is it financially attractive? In this way, we work step by step toward concrete results that add value to the region.
With my background in finance and my passion for entrepreneurship, I am committed to fostering an entrepreneurial and innovative Groningen. In my role, I work closely with funds and other stakeholders to select investments that align with IFG’s ambitions and meet Groningen’s needs.
