We are the investment and development company for the Northern Netherlands, helping entrepreneurs move forward. Whether they need funding, are looking for the perfect business location or need help making their ideas investor-ready. We do this together with approximately 70 colleagues who work daily to strengthen the economy in the Northern Netherlands.

Would you like to be part of our team? We are looking for an Investment Analyst for 36-40 hours per week to join us! Before we delve further into the job content, let's tell you a bit about our Investment team.

About the Investment team

The Investment team deals with the funding and sustainable value creation of early-stage companies in the Northern Netherlands (startups and scale-ups) and innovative SMEs. Spread across the three northern provinces, there are many companies in which we have a financial interest. We are proud of these fine companies!

The team is committed to continually expanding the portfolio. We are marketing products for early-stage funding in the focus sectors to further drive innovation in the region. Finally, through fund investments, we want to tie specialized knowledge and networks of market funds to us and make better use of them for the Northern Netherlands. We do this by creating scale in the Investment teams and having them operate sector by sector.

The Investment team consists of Investment Managers in addition to Investment Analysts. As an Investment Analyst you work together with the Investment Managers in a sector team. What will you do as an Investment Analyst?

As an Investment Analyst you will be involved in handling funding requests. You will be working for a decisive and dynamic organization with a social focus. Based in part on your analyses and insights, we assess investment opportunities that fit within our strategy.

• You will work with the Investment Managers during the process of risk analysis, due diligence, transaction structuring and internal approval processes;
• You assess leads for opportunities within the various investment funds and make contact with the Investment Managers or refer to other (external) parties;
• You report on incoming leads and their processing;
• You will create and analyze financial information and models;
• You analyze market information and identify market opportunities;
• You will analyze industry information and reports related to investment data such as current valuation methods, multiples and the like;
• You will conduct initial interviews with entrepreneurs as part of lead generation/treatment, independently or together with the Investment Manager.

What do you bring?

As an Investment Analyst, you are curious and eager to understand and unravel issues. You take initiative and are someone who quickly makes things your own. Because your analyses are cast-iron, you do not shy away from discussion and you know how to substantiate your opinion without fail. You have a completed HBO education, with a background in economics, finance or similar. You also have at least 3 years of relevant work experience. Furthermore you have a good command of the Dutch and English language in word and writing.

Employment

We offer you a salary between € 3,050 and € 4,850 gross per month (based on a 40-hour workweek). We will be happy to discuss your personal development with you. We offer good benefits, including 24 vacation days and 21 adv-days that can also be exchanged for personal development (based on a 40-hour workweek). You will also receive 8% vacation allowance, a year-end bonus of 8.33% and a net contribution of €45 per month for health insurance. Moreover, we have an excellent pension plan with the ABP.
