Zernike Advanced Processing (ZAP) is a semi-industrial research and scale-up facility on Campus Groningen where companies, knowledge institutes and students collaborate on innovative solutions for the biobased economy. Within ZAP, new processes and products in the field of green chemistry and bioprocess technology are developed, tested and scaled up towards proof of concept. The focus here is on valorizing biomass and waste streams into sustainable raw materials for the chemical industry, pharmacy and materials development, among others.
