Good afternoon Lex, can you introduce Longbloom and yourself?
Longbloom has developed an innovative and patented process for preserving fresh flowers in a clean and efficient way. Flowers such as roses, orchids and peonies are prepared in such a way that they can be kept for six months or longer. The idea came about after I came into contact with a couple of flower dealers in 2010 who were successfully selling preserved roses, especially in Asia. I was immediately captivated by the commercial possibilities. That same year, together with investors, I founded Longbloom.
What question did you come to NOM with?
Together with InnovationQuarter, the regional development company in South Holland, NOM had already provided us with funding. At the time, the money was for the purchase of an expensive machine to dry and impregnate flowers. In 2020, we dragged in the renowned Italian fashion company Gucci as a customer. From then on, production had to be even more predictable than before. To prepare said machine for this, we received follow-up funding from the NOM.
What has our service brought you?
NOM did considerably more than just provide capital. They also provided us with excellent guidance and advice at key moments. For example, when we were considering moving out of our then domicile of Bleiswijk. In close consultation with NOM, we concluded that moving to the North was the best option for taking Longbloom forward. We are now based in Wolvega.

Would you recommend our services to another person and what would you say?
