Foreign Investments Europe Drenthe Tours keeps on rolling
Financing from DPM and Rabobank allows a deepening of business. B.V. Drentse Participatie Maatschappij (DPM), a wholly-owned subsidiary of N.V. NOM, has provided risk bearing capital from the TAFF scheme, to Drenthe Tours Holding B.V. in Assen.
Drenthe Tours is a travel organization which facilitates travel both in the Netherlands and abroad. Drenthe Tours also mediates in the hire of buses and coaches, and rents them out personally. A further line of business is the provision of backup for scheduled bus services, as well as managing a commercial car wash. Klaas-Jan de Vries, DGA Drenthe Tours: “It has taken us more than two years to find suitable financing for our company. The best option for us was the combination of the NOM and the Rabobank. Thanks to the TAFF scheme, we have received just that little extra financing which will now allow us to focus on our core activities again (the hire of coaches and cars) so that we can get the show back on the road again.”
TAFF scheme
The TAFF is a temporary financing facility provided by the Province of Drenthe to DPM. TAFF was established in order to provide the business community in Drenthe with extra financial support during the present economic climate. A unique principle of the TAFF is that the banks function as applicants, and they must in principle be willing to finance at least 50% of the financing requirements of the company in question themselves. Based on the opinion of the bank, and on an independent assessment by DPM, the remaining 50% can be made available from TAFF to the company. Applications can be made to DPM up to and including 31 December 2011.
