Foreign Investments Europe Optimism among companies at Chemie Park
A number of major investments were completed in 2010. The new salt plant of Akzo Nobel got underway without a hitch, Delamine put the first major expansion project since the mid-nineties into use and BioMCN opened the world’s biggest second general biofuel plant.
Site manager Fester Oosterhuis predicts that in view of these developments and the continuing economic recovery, the companies in the Chemie Park will be emerging from the crisis fairly soon. And despite rising energy prices and the increasing production capacity for certain products, there is a prevailing sense of optimism for this year. Companies are generally looking at expansion or at increasing production in order to meet the growing market demand.
